Have You Tried Using Special Greetings as Part of Your Self Esteem Activities for Children

One of the self esteem activities for children that I'd like to share with you, is what I call the special greeting. I first came across this on a video on Youtube and it really stuck out to me as an excellent way to not only build rapport with children but also build their confidence and self esteem and give them a sense of belonging.

The video (below) showed how a particular, elementary school teacher has a special greeting ritual that he performs with his students. Before they enter the class for their lesson, he performs a special greeting with each of his students, and each child has their own special greeting.

From observing the video I could see the impact this had on each child, you can see that it has helped create a bond between the students and their teacher, I can imagine that its helped create a sense of community, a sense of belonging.

I can see how this makes each child feel special, as you have taken the time to create something special just for them, it as a way of showing them that they are special enough to have their own unique greeting and this must do wonders for their confidence, and have a positive impact on their performance in class.

Now of course you don't have to be a teacher to have a special greeting with the kids in your life, this is something you can do with your own children. In fact I'm planning to do this with my own kids and I will post a video of it here once we get it perfected.

So as part of the self esteem activities for children under your influence, I encourage you to try this with them and see what kind of impact it has and what results you get from it.

I recently discovered a course which helps you become certified as a self esteem coach for children. I am currently taking this course myself and if it sounds like something you might be interested in then you can check it out using this link

Self Esteem Activities for Children

Here's me and my girls practicing our special greetings, we had so much fun creating them and both the girls contributed ideas towards their own greeting. As you can see, we still have a long way to go to get them perfect lol! but the process has been so much fun for both me and the kids. I look forward to hearing your stories and maybe evening seeing some of your videos as you try this out with your kids
