The Champion Mindset Self Improvement and motivation Program

I would like to start this champion mindset self improvement and motivation program by asking you to write down on a piece of paper your definition of a champion.

Champions are people that are the best at what they do, for you to earn that title means you have successfully proven that you are the best.

How then do you become the best?

Well that's exactly what this program is about, in this program you will learn the secrets of self improvement and motivation so that you too can develop the mindset of a champion and indeed become a champion.

Let's breakdown the word champion:

C omitted
H ave faith
A ttitude
M editate
P lan
I ntegrity
O rganised
N ever quit

Committed

Champions are committed people, they are committed to what they do, they are not casual about it, they are dedicated to it and give it the time and effort that is required. They don't start something today then drop it tomorrow just because it gets hard, they stay committed until they achieve the desired outcome.

Lack of commitment will ultimately lead to failure. Have you been committed to what you do?

List 3 ways you can increase your commitment to each of these areas:

Your career,
Your business,
Your health,
Your relationships,
Your education,
other areas of your life

Have Faith

Champions have faith, they believe in themselves, they are confident in their ability. Before the race begins, a champion has already seen themself on the podium with a gold medal around their neck. Champions believe they are the best.

Champions also have faith that they can overcome any challenge, they believe they can conquer anything that wants to stand between them and that gold medal. They don't allow the challenges and setbacks to affect their faith, they keep believing no matter what.

Exercise

In what ways do you allow the challenges and setbacks of life to affect your faith, confidence and belief in yourself?

How will you overcome this in the future, what will you do to keep yourself believing and having faith even when there are challenges and setbacks?

Attitude

Champions have the right attitude. Champions have a positive mental attitude. Champions respond to every situation with optimism.

Champions know that your attitude will determine how far you can go, your attitude will determine whether you stay committed or give up, your attitude will determine what you see as achievable.

One person sees a problem and runs, the other sees a problem and faces it head on, what's the difference? Attitude.

Attitude is what makes the lion the king of the jungle even though it's not as fast as the cheetah or as big and smart as the elephant. The lion is still their king because of its attitude, it's not intimidated by other animals, it's not fazed by any other animal, it's not afraid of other animals.

In the lions mind he is the fiercest and most deadly and he carries himself with that attitude and the other animals recognise that.

Meditate

Champions meditate. My definition of meditation in this context isn't sitting cross legged in a quiet room humming and doing chants (not that there's anything wrong with doing that).
My definition of meditate is consciously thinking of and reassuring yourself of good and positive things.

I like how the bible teaches us to meditate. It says in the book of Philippians 4:8 that "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, meditate on such things."

Champions meditate on what is true about them - that they are the best, that they are capable, that they can overcome, that they can win.

Champions meditate on what is noble, The word noble is used for people who belong to a high social status, it can also be used to describe someone who thinks highly of themself. Champions don't see themselves as average or ordinary, they think highly of themselves.

Champions meditate on what is right. And what is right is that they are talented and gifted, amazing and strong, beautiful and full of potential to achieve anything they set their minds to

Champions meditate on what is pure and lovely. They don't entertain negative thoughts that can corrupt their self image. They see themselves winning not losing, they see themselves succeeding not failing.

Champions meditate on what is admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. They see themselves being admired by others, they see themselves excelling and gaining the praise of others.

That's how champions meditate, through positive thoughts.

In what ways can you begin to use the type of meditation we just talked about?

Set aside 5 mins every morning and every night to do this kind of meditation

Plan

Champions plan. They know what they want and how they are going to get there

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. A dream with no strategy is just wishful thinking. A destination with no route will never be reached.

Exercise

What plans have you made to reach your goals?

Set aside some time to review your goals and come up with a few plans on how you will achieve them.

Integrity

Champions have integrity. Talent might take you to the top, but your integrity will determine whether you stay there.

Think of how lack of integrity destroyed the reputation of great men like Bill Clinton and Tiger Woods.

Think of how lack of integrity destroyed the reputations of athletes like Marian Jones and Ben Johnson.

True champions don't cheat, they have integrity.

Exercise

Are there areas of your life where you lack integrity? If so, in what ways might they cost you in the future?

Self improvement and motivation comes by having integrity.

Organised

Champions are organised. They plan their day, they have a set regime, they wake up everyday knowing what they need to do. They know how to manage their priorities, they don't waste their time doing unnecessary things. There is order to their life.

Exercise

In what ways can you be more organized in your life?

List 5 areas of your life where you will become more organized.

Self improvement and motivation comes by being organized.

Never Quit

Champions never quit, champions never give up, no matter how tough things may get, no matter how many setbacks and failures they encounter, Champions never quit, they keep trying, they keep going and they keep hoping, they never give up hope, they are determined, they are focused on the goal, they are focused on the prize and will do whatever it takes and go through whatever they need to go through to get the prize. Never Give Up - Never Quit.

Go through the pain, endure the challenges, persevere and you will get to the top.

Exercise

Make a list of dreams, goals , projects etc that you have given up on. Make a new commitment to them if they are still things you desire to achieve and from now never give up on them.

Find at least one person in your life who can encourage you whenever you feel like giving up.
