I was first introduced to self esteem activities when I went on a personal development course a few years ago
It was at a low point in my life, things weren't really going the way I wanted, there were goals I wanted to achieved that I hadn't, money was funny, and so many things in my life just didn't seem to be going right.
Needless to say I began to feel not so good about myself and it was during this period in my life that someone recommended that I went on a personal development course to get some motivation that would help me to start to get my life back on track, and it was while I was on this course that I came across the self-esteem activities that I want to share with you.
1. They force you to begin to change the negative perceptions you hold of yourself. You have probably heard the saying "you are what you eat" and that is very true, but did you know that you are also what you think. Your thoughts about yourself determine the reality you experience, in fact I like the way the bible puts it, it says "As a man thinks in his heart so is he" in other words, you are exactly what you think about yourself and if your thoughts towards yourself are negative, then your reality will be negative. With the help of these self esteem activities you will be able to change those negative perceptions you hold about yourself.
2. They make you start to feel good about yourself. Once you start to see yourself in a more positive way, the result is that you begin to feel good about yourself, you become more optimistic about life, you feel more confident about yourself, you feel more attractive, you start to feel like a winner and a champion, like nothing can stop you, and that is another benefit of doing these self esteem activities.
3. They help you eliminate fear and take positive action. Ultimately the whole point of developing a positive self esteem is so that you have the confidence to go and be who you want to be and accomplish the things you want to accomplish, often it is low self esteem that stops us from being who we want to be and getting what we want from life, because with low self esteem comes fear and that fear stops us from taking positive action. And as we all know, without actions there can be no result. The benefit of these self esteem activities is that they will help you to overcome your fears and take the actions necessary to live a fulfilling life.
